Phil was presented with the prestigious Dede Stolte Cup at graduation. He had directed the record setting 1965 Colonel Football Team. Phil was named to The Scholastic Coach Magazine All-American Team.

A dominant player in two sports, Kyle helped lead Brattleboro’s basketball team to runner-up in the Vermont State Championship in 2002 and was a leader on baseball teams that won the State Championship in 2001 and were semi-finalists in 2002 and 2003.

Hugh Barber

Hugh has distinguished himself as a superb two-sport athlete in the sports of golf and ski jumping. At BUHS Hugh was the Vermont Ski Jumping State Champion in 1967 and 1968. Hugh attended and graduated from Middlebury College where he won four winter carnivals and placed in the top five of the NCAA events.

A pioneer in women’s sports in the 1970s after the passage of Title IX, Beth Juscen lettered in four sports at Brattleboro Union High School, and in 1978 became the first female athlete to win the Diedrich Stolte Memorial Cup.
